Olde Pubs and Alehouses Tour

… My husband and our friends had the pleasure of taking the Olde Pubs and Ale houses in February with Michael Gerrard as our guide.  The tour was the best we received while we were in England! 
 
Michael was a courteous and perfectly wonderful guide.  He introduced us to many pubs that seemed off-the-beaten-path and gave us facts and historical trivia we may have never otherwise discovered.  Our entire group was thoroughly enchanted with the evening and Michael's introduction to London's pubs.

How long has Mikro Tours Ltd been operating? and are you registered with any tourist organiszation?
Mikro Tours Ltd was founded in 2005. Our founders have been involved in tour guiding for more than ten years. We are fully licensed by Transport for London's Public Carriage Office and a member of both the City of London Guide Lecturers' Association and the City of Westminster Guide Lecturers' Association.

Are you are a travel agent?
No - we are solely a tour guiding company. Please email us at: info@mikrotours.com or phone +44 (0)208 8954 5544 for more information.

Are your sightseeing tours guaranteed departures?
Once we have accepted your booking and, you have paid your deposit, we promise that we will not cancel your tour unless forced to do so by circumstances beyond our control. On the rare occasions on which we are forced to cancel your sightseeing tour, we will give you the opportunity to transfer it to another time or to receive a full refund.

Questions About Arrival and Departure Arrangements

Can Mikro Tours arrange airport transfers?
We are very happy to arrange British airport transfers for you. An additional charge will be payable for this service.

Questions about Mikro Tours tour bus fleet

What sort of tour bus do we travel in?
Smaller groups travel in our comfortable 8-seater minibuses. Larger groups enjoy luxury coach travel for their sightseeing. All seats are forward-facing and fitted with seatbelts. Luggage is stored in a rear compartment. All vehicles are air-conditioned or have forced air vents.

Questions About the Tour Itineraries

How much driving do we do?
We design all our tours to minimise time on the tour bus and to include plenty to see while aboard. If you have booked a panoramic tour, however, the majority of the trip will be aboard the tour bus. Even on panoramic tours there will always be plenty of stops for photo opportunities.

How flexible are Mikro Tours itineraries? Can we request visits to particular sights?
Your tour will be tailor-made designed to your requirements, offering you maximum flexibility. Where itineraries and destinations are pre-arranged, your tour guide will be we are happy to cater for unscheduled stops or detours wherever possible. We will not omit sites included on your tour itinerary unless everyone in your party is in agreement, or the particular site is not available on the day of your sightseeing tour.

Are the tours suitable for children?
This varies from tour to tour. Some sightseeing tours are child-friendly, while others are less so. Please let us know if you may be bringing a child or children. We can design a tour for you suitable for everyone in your group, irrespective of age.

How much walking will a tour involve?
Walking is a key part of most of our tours (aside from panoramic tours). In most cases your tour will offer opportunities for some extended walking.

What if I have a mobility problem or concern?
Please contact us so that we can work with you to arrange a sightseeing tour suitable for you.

Are entrance fees to sights and other destinations included in my tour price?
Tourist Eentrance fees are generally not included in your sightseeing tour price, unless by pre-arrangement. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this.

Who goes on a Mikro Tours tour?
Our clients are drawn from across the age range. Typically English-speaking, they come in the main from Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore and Hong Kong. All our tour commentaries are in English.

Questions about our guides

Who leads and drives the tours?
Every Mikro Tours tour is led by a trained and highly experienced tour guide, always up to date a result of our policy of seeking continual improvement in all areas of our operation, including our tour guide staff. In terms of their knowledge, specialist experience and suitability for handling the small group sightseeing tours that are our speciality, we believe they will not be bettered by any other tour operator.

Questions about making a booking and payments

How can I make a booking?
Please refer to the section of this web site dealing with the type of sightseeing tour that interests you. Usually, you will be able to book your tours online, but if you have a requirement not covered by the website, please do contact us.

What happens if I have to cancel?
Once you have booked a Mikro Tours service, should you need to cancel it (as a result of illness or for any other reason), we will make a charge. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover any possible cancellation charges. Please see our Terms of Service page for comprehensive information.

Questions about insurance and flights

Can we book our flights and insurance through Mikro Tours?
At present, Mikro Tours does not handle flight booking or insurance.
