The castle itself is one of the Queen's favourite homes, and within its majestic surroundings, monarchs have been married, imprisoned and buried over the centuries.
Should you wish to do so, you will be able to visit the castle complex, wander through the sumptuous State Apartments, home to the Queen's extensive private art collection. Open to the public when the royal family is away, these elegant rooms were restored following a devastating fire in 1992.
You will also have the opportunity to admire the intricate delights of Queen Mary's Dolls House, a gift to the then Queen in 1923.
Soak up the atmosphere of St George's Chapel, a religious jewel which most recently hosted the blessing of Prince Charles's marriage to Camilla, now the Duchess of Cornwall.
Nearby is Eton College, England's most famous school and alma mater of Princes William, Harry and Britain's most famous warrior, the Duke of Wellington, among many others. Its pupils wear distinctive black tailcoats, and the school boasts a unique scenic riverside location.
Just outside Windsor is Runneymede, where King John signed Magna Carta with his barons and is also the site of the John F. Kennedy Memorial.
The trip also offers you the opportunity to sample the delights of beautiful Hampton Court Palace, which was constructed in 1514 and was the home of Henry VIII, he of the six wives!
The Palace boasts a world renowned Maze, scenic gardens and the famous astronomic clock built for the king in 1540.
